Why We Oppose Hyperscale Data Centre Proposals

We have seen the negative impacts of hyperscale data centres (DCs) around the world, the mind boggling number of these proposed developments in Scotland and know that the people’s hearts aren’t in the minds of these developers.

We stand in opposition to the proposed hyperscale DC for the grounds surrounding the former nuclear power station at Chapelcross.

We are here to campaign against this development and its vague details, as it will have huge implications for our beautiful way of life in South West Scotland.

The proposed data centre would consume as much energy as 88% of Scottish homes, undermine local ecology, and offer uncertain economic benefits, risking our community’s future.
